What is SnapnStrut?

SnapnStrut pipe hanger fittings and accessories are one of the fastest, most versatile, and thoroughly engineered one-piece hinged pipe hangers, cable hangers, and conduit hangers ever made. For engineers, home owners and contractors alike, SnapnStrut has it all!

 

Is SnapnStrut patented?

The P and E versions are  patented 

 

Are Tools needed?

 

The P and E versions can  either  be  snapped  into a standard strut, or threaded onto a rod, without the use of extra hardware or tools! The pipe is simply snapped into the hanger and locked in place using the snug-fit size- adjusting lock arm.  We do offer a wrench to assist in some installations if the strut is not standard.

 

What is SnapnStrut HS?

 

The HS version is used for supporting pipes and conduits on flat surfaces, such  as

beams, walls, machinery or the flat side of a strut.

 

Is the HS mounting hole offset?

 

The offset design allows space for fittings and couplings.  The mounting hole is inline with the pipe for best leverage.

 

Does one size fit all?

 

SnapnStrut hangers accept several different pipe sizes. Offset design allows space for fittings and couplings.

The  hinged,  snap-on  lock  arm  adjusts  for  pipe O.D. variations, affording each hanger the ability to accommodate several different pipe sizes. The pipe is nestled in a snug fit without any crimping of its wall.

 

 

Where are SnapnStrut made?

 

All parts are produced in Beloit Wisconsin, manufactured in the US.

 

What are SnapnStrut made of?

 

The standard SnapnStrut  pipe  hangers  are  produced from a high-performance, UV stabilized 6/6 nylon resin possessing exceptional long term stress resistance and chemical stability over a wide range of temperatures.  The light duty SnapnStrut are made with high impact polypropylene.

 

Does SnapnStrut need locking nuts?

 

When  used  in  a  strut,  SnapnStrut hangers  are self-gripping. When used on a rod, the hanger itself is threaded onto the rod. When the pipe is inserted into the hanger, the hanger can no longer turn. Thus, even the need for a lock nut is eliminated.

 

        What temperature are they rated for?

 

Standard parts are produced from a specialty nylon resin, rated at 250°F, working temperatures and for intermediate temperatures up to 480°F. For refrigeration, allowable working temperatures down to -70°F.  Polypropyle light duty parts are rated for typical environmental conditions in the US.

 

 

Are SnapnStrut corrosion resistant?

 

With a totally non-metallic design, there is no need to isolate copper tubing. Eliminate the concern for galvanic corrosion. The SnapnStrut hangers will withstand most commonly encountered chemicals and   refrigerants,   including   Freon   and    Ammonia.  Both versions are suitable for marine environments.

 

Are SnapnStrut resistant to vibration?

 

The nature of the materials utilized, combined with the uniquely engineered design, absorbs vibration and acts as a cushion between the piping and its supporting structure.

 

 

What is the difference between P. E U and HS versions?

The P, E and U SnapnStrut can either be snapped into a strut, or threaded onto a rod, without the use of extra hardware or tools! The pipe is simply snapped into the hanger and locked into place using the Snug-fit size-adjusting lock arm.  P has a 3/8 16 thread, E has ¼ 20 thread and U had no thread.  HS is for surface mounting with holes for a screw or bolt.   HS is used for supporting conduits on flat surfaces, such as beams, walls, machinery or the flat side of a strut.

 

Can SnapnStrut be mounted above or below the strut?

 

P, E and U versions can be top or bottom mounted on strut and screwed in, or threaded onto a rod

 

Will SnapnStrut slide down vertically mounted strut?

In general the fit is tight enough but needs to be field tested since there are many different strut dimensions and applications.

Are SnapnStrut suitable for holding vertical pipes?

Like all pipe hangers, there should be a fitting above the hanger to stop the pipe sliding through.
